Why is it the SMART approach?

Does your company waste precious resources in recruiting staff only to find that either the job does not live up to their expectations, or the applicants do not live up to your expectations. COJENT provides a simple to use, on line assessment system that allows you to test the skills, knowledge and understanding of applicants before they even reach the interview stage

What will it cost?

We can say that a typical contract usually costs the customer between £2,000 and £4,000. However, COJENT offers access to a unique online, software service and the experience of the COJENT consultants to develop your online assessment (your ‘virtual interview’) to filter candidates for you post. There is no simple answer to how much does it cost, because no two employers and their vacancies are the same. You decide what you need, and select the services you need from a range of available services from the basic use of the online system, through to support in developing your virtual interview, training staff or filtering and communicating with candidates. We are confident that whatever the spend it will be outweighed by the resulting savings.

How long will it take?

Another difficult question to answer but a typical timescale would be two or three man-days from the COJENT team to discuss the requirements and build the online assessment that forms your virtual interview. Then one man-day or two to build the web interface and link to your web site. From then on it is a matter of waiting for the applicants to login to the COJENT site and apply for the posts.

What would we need in advance?

If you have a vacancy with a job description and role description (or similar) advertised on your web site or ready to be advertised in the national or local press, then you are ready to use the system. If you do not than we can help you with this part of the process as well. Most of the users of the system have very clearly defined post to be filled and seek our assistance in developing the tests for the virtual interviews, or train their staff in developing those virtual interview tests them selves. Training would usually be no more than one day for one or two staff.

Are some positions more suitable than others?

If you think there are fundamental questions about knowledge, skill, understanding and attitude that can be asked of a prospective candidate than that job is suitable for the virtual interview approach of COJENT. We are yet to find a post for which it is not suitable.

Is it secure?

Yes. The information collected is securely stored and is treated in the utmost confidence. Major banks use the same secure facility for maintaining records of customer transactions.

Does the number of applicants affect the process or the price?

No. There is no limit to the number of candidates who can apply through the system for your vacancy, nor does it affect the cost.

Does the number of posts or the length of the recruitment period affect the price?

Yes, but we suggest that in order to convince yourselves of the merit of this approach that we start with a single campaign, and we let the benefits of the service speak for themselves.

What is the first step?

Talk to us. We are happy to come and discuss the process, explain how it works and what your commitment would be if you wanted to go further. We are confident that you will be impressed by the potential of the service we offer and the results of using it.

Who else uses the system?

Among the organisations using the system are a major retail group, one of the UK’s largest suppliers of engineering  components, a university and media buying company

What is a Virtual Interview?

The process of creating an objective assessment to be delivered through a secure web facility without the interviewee needing to attend a face to face session. This is not a live chat between interviewee and interviewer, rather it is a bank of objective questions that each and every candidate goes through and delivered on behalf of the potential interviewer/recruiter by the COJENT system.

Is this just multiple choice questions?

Absolutely not, the questions that make up your virtual interview for the candidates are built from a battery of types of question from multi-response to short answer.

How does a candidate know what to do?

COJENT provides a simple, intuitive test that uses focussed, effective question types to get realistic and honest information back from candidates. The candidates follow simple on screen instructions, make their replies.

Where would a candidate start?

The candidate could link to the virtual interview within the COJENT service through a link on your web-site or from a web address printed in your job advertisement.

Why is this better than just receiving a c.v.?

The COJENT system provides an objective assessment based on the requirements of the job rather a subjective view of the contents of a c.v. or accompanying letter.
